Curriculum
Our program provides a traditional, Christian education that lays a firm foundation for lifelong learning. Children are taught to read with a strong, phonics-based approach that ensures confidence and fluency. Math, grammar, and writing are introduced in a careful, step-by-step way, stressing mastery and discipline. Students are formed by hearing and reading great stories—from Scripture and from the classics—that shape character and imagination. This early foundation prepares them for the rigorous studies of middle school, where they will encounter Latin and the great books of Western tradition, all within a Christ-centered environment.
Enrichments
In kindergarten through 4th grade students participate in daily enrichment classes. Music, Spanish, and Computer/Library classes take place once a week; music takes place twice a week. Students in grades 5-8 attend the following classes for one semester each: Latin and PE.
Athletics
VCA students compete in the Metro Middle School League of New Orleans. Through fall and winter, students are able to play football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, and soccer. Spring brings tennis, baseball, and softball.
ASAP
VCA’s After School Activities Program (ASAP) offers students a variety of options for after school enrichment. Parents can sign their kids up for private music lessons, art, sports, faith programs and more.
A.c.s.i Competitions
ACSI Student Activities enhance learning beyond the classroom by equipping Christian schools and educators and challenging students toward God-honoring applications of their leadership skills, fine art talents, and academic abilities.
The program pushes students to develop the communication skills, composure, and confidence-all while providing a time of fun and fellowship with other Christian young people!

Students have Bible class every day. Starting in Pre-K, students memorize a Bible passage every week. In the lower school, Bob Jones University Press texts are used; in the upper school, Memoria Press texts, Bibles, and concordances are used.
